With the hustle and bustle of downtown living, it’s hard to find the time to take in the neighbourhood. On Thursday June 3rd, 2010 the monthly art walk will be making it’s rounds through the various Yorkville galleries! It’s a great opportunity to find that special piece for your Yorkville condo! The walk will take guests to seven galleries including:
1. Hollander York Gallery
2. Ingram Gallery
3. Kinsman Robinson Galleries
4. Lane Gallery
5. Leonardo Galleries
6. Liss Gallery
7. Odon Wagner Gallery
According to the Yorkville Art Walk website: The informal, free tour begins by gathering at the Rotunda (lower level) in the Hazelton Lanes Mall, opposite Browns’ Shoe Store. The attendees split into two or three smaller groups which visit selected area galleries during the evening. Each small group is led by a tour guide who is familiar with art appreciation and the local art scene. Some of the galleries may have featured artists present for the tour. A wide range of Contemporary or Historical Canadian and International works of art are available for viewing. At the end of the evening attendees may join the group for coffee at a local area café.
The walk is organized by Artsgroup. Co-ordinator: Marg King If you require further details please call Marg
at (647) 588-1144 or send an email to Paul Ferri at Info@YorkvilleNews.ca
Hungry but don’t feel like cooking? Forgot to pack a lunch? Or maybe you missed your daily fix of Starbucks. Whatever the case, the new Market by Longo’s could probably solve all those problems!
BloorCondos visited the new store to see what fresh finds The Market offered. The store isn’t large by traditional standards, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The compact sized store made it easy to navigate with tons of friendly staff nearby to help. The salad bar seemed to be the most popular attraction, where many people were mixing and matching salad combos. Past the salad bar was a sushi station with sets made right in front of you! Some delicious entrées can be had along the west wall with everything from a bakery to a pizza parlour. There’s a fresh fish counter at the back with prepared meats seasoned and ready to go… and for those who like their coffee on the run; the built-in Starbucks is there to serve you!
The Market is a great addition to Bloor and Yonge, giving residents and employees of the neighbourhood a great selection of prepared foods at a convenient location. The Market is located next to the Toronto Marriot – Bloor Yorkville at Bloor and Park Rd (100 Bloor Street East Toronto ON M4W 1A7) and open from Monday – Friday 7am-9pm Saturday & Sunday 7am-8pm!
Milan Condos, located at on the North East corner of Yonge and Church St in downtown Toronto! The Milan Condo will link Yorkville to Rosedale and offer residents breathtaking views of the Rosedale Valley. They’ve recently started tearing down the existing parking lot on the site. Check out the photos below for an update in photos!
The old red brick building on the corner of St. Nicholas and St. Mary was brought back to life as realtors came out in droves to preview details on the Nicholas Residences. The 29 story glass and aluminum tower is the newest addition to the Bloor-Yorkville area. The building will feature architectural design by CORE Architects and interiors complemented by Cecconi Simone. Residents will be surrounded by floor to ceiling windows and either a Balcony, French Balcony or Terrace. The 9 foot ceilings (10 ft. for Penthouse levels) will be capped with a smooth finish. Owners can select between pre-engineered wood flooring or German engineered high performance wide plank laminate flooring.
Suites range from 395-778 sqf and will sit on top of the reconstructed 1880’s facade. With approximately 250 units, each floor will have 9 suites. A trip down St. Nicholas St showcases a rare find in Down Town Toronto…19th Century cottages, each named after a different native tree to the area. Suites at Nicholas Residences are named after these cottages as a tribute to the history of the street. Here are some photos of what the site currently looks like, as well as renderings of its future design.
The project is scheduled to be completed by May 2013. All worksheets must be handed in by February 7th, 2010. Time is of the essence if you would like to call the Nicholas Residences home. Contact us to preview prices, floor plans and more!

A cell phone to a Realtor is just as important as the foundation is to a condo! For years, we’ve had very few choices when it came to selecting a cell phone service provider…that was until now!
Wind Mobile is the newest cell phone company to launch in Canada, and although others have launched in the past, never to such excitement. Wind Mobile isn’t just another company, but rather a new way of doing business. What separates them from the rest is their ability to open the flow of communication between business and client. Their goal: “Simply put, we want to create the most unforgettably positive customer experience in Canada.” With initiatives such as: open forums, live streaming twitter feeds and an online community for their clients to converse, it looks like they’re well on their way to change the game! Oh…and then there’s prices.
The ‘Always Shout’ plan is a Realtors dream come true! For $45 per month, the user gets unlimited talk, text and voicemail with no monthly fees and no contract to sign.
