2009 was a huge year for us at BloorCondos.com as it was the year we launched our lifestyle/real estate blog! We’ve taken a break from writing on the blog over the holidays to rethink the direction of it’s content. We’re excited to feature even more stories and information about the what’s what and who’s who in the Bloor Yorkville area. Check back in the coming weeks as we look at a few new condo pre construction projects launching in 2010. We’ll also be reporting the monthly sales in the real estate market for the area.
For the out of town reader, we’ll also be focusing more on providing updates for the condos currently under construction. Expect tons of pics, videos, and write ups about Crystal Blu, The Uptown, The Four Seasons, The Florian, and One Bedford to name a few!
We wish you all tons of health, lots of weatlth and a Happy New Year!

Last night my client and I met at Murano, his new condo at the corner of Grosvenor and Bay just south of Bloor! We picked up the keys for his unit that had closed earlier in the day. After inspecting the unit and checking out the fantastic city and lake views, we decided to walk up the street to Cafe Nervosa, a 2 storey building just west of Bay St. on Yorkville Ave. In the warmer weather, I love sitting outside on the sidewalk patio but because of darkness and temperature we sat inside and enjoyed a lovely meal. We stayed on the main floor where most of the activity was centered but could have gone upstairs to sit on the couches by the fireplace.
Think of authentic Italian cuisine, elegant in its décor with a versatile, extensive menu. If you love Italian there is something here you will love.
We started with insalate and a bottle of special red wine to celebrate the occasion. I continued with one of my favourites I have had before. Pizza covered in a bed of arugula, goat cheese and roasted peppers. My client selected chicken and potatoes.
Other guests in the restaurant could be seen having an array of salads featuring arugula, bocconcini, cesar, spinach, and seafood, as well as authentic antipasti, including bruschetta, grilled calamari, and beef carpaccio.
We finished our dining with cheesecake and espresso. If you are looking for an exciting night out while dining with your friends, Café Nervosa will offer you that and more. Read the rest of this entry »

I was at 55 Bloor yesterday, waiting to pick up my client for a few condo showings. As I sat in my car, I noticed something very different in my rear view mirror! It’s was green… it was environmentally friendly… it was a NEW zipcar location! The beauty of downtown Toronto is that you don’t need to own a car to get around. Especially is you’re living in a condo at Bloor and Yonge, where you can hop on a train and get to where you need to be! BUT there are times when a car would be useful, for example: to pick up furniture, for grocery shopping or to take out visiting family members…and now you can without the expenses of owning one!
Tucked away at the end of the alleyway, between the Institute of Chartered Accountants (69 Bloor St E) and Signatures on Bloor (55 Bloor St E) are “Aussie” the Audi A3 and “Crumpler” the Honda Civic. Here’s how the whole zip car concept works.

It’s been a little over a month since we began blogging and in that time we’ve received a ton of emails and enquiries about condos in the area! The response to the blog has been amazing and we thank each and every one of our readers for its success. Our goal was to share our knowledge of the Bloor and Yonge area with anyone and everyone who’s interested in calling it home. A large portion of our content is based on the lifestyle of the area, which is the perfect segway to introduce our newest contributor!
International Interior Designer, Mother and all around Fashionista; Nora Voon of Tshuka Interior Design will be giving our readers a glimpse into some of the finest trends emerging worldwide. I saw first had what Nora is capable of, as she recently wrapped up work in Toronto overhauling an older east end beaches home. The home looked very tired and was at the end of its life…that was until Tshuka Interior Design stepped in and totally revamped the house from top to bottom (photos coming soon).
