So a little birdie got me thinking about blogging… First crack at something that can get addictive…. Hmm, just what I needed amongst being a full time interior designer working in four different countries with crazy time zones… add two kids, a husband and a cat to the equation, and I have a serious problem. BUT that being said, I’m going to give this a go as they say ‘what doesn’t kill ya…”
What to blog about… hmm… well, first off, we’ve just introduced our Vintage Hermes floor cushions recently to Vivre.com, an online company in New York that sells our very own yummy-licious cushions. Why so yummy-licious? Well, 65 grams of silk from 250 cocoons, 90 centimetres square, Need I say more? All Hermès scarves are hand-printed using multiple silk screens and the hems are all hand-stitched. Each design requires nine to twelve months of research and development; fifty-odd designers, ideas drawn from styles such as baroque, contributions from artists such as Matisse. Six to eight weeks are required to meticulously prepare the many silk-screen printing frames …. So to make a story short, it’s really labour intensive. Our cushion range dates back to late 1920’s with famous artist like Ledoux. Each one is a one off and once it’s sold that’s it! These cushions are gigantic floor cushions with leather backing or heavy silk backings. Check them out! Read the rest of this entry »

Our goal was to share our knowledge of the Bloor and Yonge area with anyone and everyone who’s interested in calling it home. A large portion of our content is based on the lifestyle of the area, which is the perfect segway to introduce our newest contributor!
International Interior Designer, Mother and all around Fashionista; Nora Voon of Tshuka Interior Design will be giving our readers a glimpse into some of the finest trends emerging worldwide. I saw first had what Nora is capable of, as she recently wrapped up work in Toronto overhauling an older east end beaches home. The home looked very tired and was at the end of its life…that was until Tshuka Interior Design stepped in and totally revamped the house from top to bottom (photos coming soon).
