It looks like the The Yorkville Condominiums will have some tough architectural competition to compete with in 2011! The Rudy Wallman designed project has been getting a lot of attention and praise for it’s unique design, coloured glass, and varying angles…BUT thanks to BuzzBuzzHomes blockbuster news break, we now have another project pushing the boundaries of design in Yorkville. Bazis International (think Crystal Blu a few blocks away) is teaming up with Metropia Urban Landscapes and Plazacorp to develop Exhibit Residences at 200 Bloor St. West!
BuzzBuzzHomes also reported that the project will be 32 storeys tall and will feature 200 units. The sales centre will be at 162 Cumberland St. and prices are to start in the $500,000′s. It looks like Bazis is sticking with their archittect of choice, Roy Varacalli for Exhbit. The inital rendering isn’t very detailed, but gives us a good idea on the shape Exhibit will one day take. The protruding angles should fit in well with ROM across the street! Some other noteable features of exhibit include: Lounge, Bar,Private Dining Room, Caterers Kitchen, Party Room, Fireplace, Rooftop Terrace with Pool, Workout Facilities, Yoga Studio and fire Fireside Lounge.
We’re very excited with what we currently know and will be bringing more updates on The Exhibit Residences in the near future! Contact the BloorCondos Team to be notified about Exhibit Residences.
A BIG thanks to BuzzBuzzHome for breaking the story!
UPDATE *We sold this unit in under 6 days making it one of the FIRST sales at Crystal Blu since registering! If you’re thinking of buying here, or have a suite to sell contact the BloorCondos Team!*
The BloorCondos Team has a brand new listing at Crystal Blu! This one bedroom suite is available on the 15th floor and has views to the west over looking the Manulife Centre. It’s an open concept layout with 10 foot ceilings and engineered dark hardwood floors. The suite is approximately 600 square feet but having the large ceiling heights (compared to a unit with 8 foot ceiling heights) really adds to the airy feel of space. The kitchen features Scavolini designed cabinetry, flat surface stove top with range, stainless steel fridge and dishwasher as well as a built in microwave under the granite island! Check out the video and photos below:
Crystal Blu comes equipped with an outdoor pool, party and separate meeting room plus a very generous sized gym considering the small footprint of the building.
If you’re interested in setting up a private viewing of this suite, or if you already own one and would like to know how much yours is worth, contact the BloorCondos Team!

The newest luxury project to launch in 2011 is Lifetime developments “The Yorkville Condominiums“! We were the first to post a photo of it’s model mockup back in early November, and since posting, we’ve recieved a ton of emails enquiring about it’s location.
The Yorkville Condominums will be built at the current site of Moriyama & Teshima offices at 32 Davenport Rd (and Mcmurich). Many may not know the names of Moriyama & Teshima, but it was this firm that was responsible for the Toronto Reference Library, the Ontario Science Centre and even the Bata Shoe Museum to name a few.
The corner is no stranger to redevelopment as The Florian next door and the Four Seasons down the street have both been welcomed additions to the area!
The BloorCondos team took to the streets to get some photos of the future site as well as a sneak peak at what the sales centre will one day look like! The sales centre will be located behind Moriyama & Teshimas office on Mcmurich. Click on the thumbnails below for a larger image:
BuzzBuzzHome had more info on the projects many amenities, which will include: a 24-hour concierge,Wine Cellar, Workout Facilities, Yoga Studio, Steam Room, Rooftop Terrace, Pool and Fifth Floor Residents Lounge!

It looks like the laughs are on the Leafs with the Bloor-Yorkville BIA’s latest ads showing up on the street! As construction continues west in the “Greener Bloor” transformation, several pylons have been placed along the widened, pedestrian-friendly granite sidewalks and curbs. By spring 2011, these pylons will be home to beautiful London Plane trees!
In the mean time…the boring black and orange pylons have been wrapped with a lighthearted laugh; poking fun at not only the Toronto Maple Leafs but also the increasingly hot condo market. One message read – “Coming soon: 134 tree top condos for birds – Occupancy Spring 2011″. Another had “Bloor Street will be Green – Others will be green with envy.”… And my personal favorite was the one pictured above which states “By Spring 2011, there will be more ‘leafs’ here than in the Playoffs.” Let’s hope their wrong about that one!
We spotted three of these, but if you find any more, be sure to add the message in the comment section below. Click the thumbnails below to preview a larger image of the pylons!
The third and final Yorkville project starting demolition is X2 by Great Gulf Homes! Located south of it’s predecessor X, X2 will rise 49 stories above Jarvis. The project is being built on the old Pizza Pizaa headquarters, and earlier in the month all past remnants of the building were demolished! Check out the photos below!
There’s still a great selection of units available at X2, contact the BloorCondos team if you’d like more info on purchasing there!
